The Retail Bridalwear Association was formed in 1995 with the aim of raising standards of service within bridalwear and men’s formalwear shops and throughout the bridal industry as a whole.

Today, the membership consists of a UK-wide organisation of well-established quality wedding dress and men's formalwear retailers that carry the RBA seal of approval.

RBA Members are all independent wedding dress shops and menswear formalwear hire retailers. As Independents, they are not restricted to franchised suppliers, but can offer their customers the widest choice of products that represent best value for money in terms of quality and service.

RBA Members each have over five years trading experience, are subject to business rates (with premises subject to local authority health & safety standards) and are all VAT-registered (and are therefore subject to audit by the Customs & Excise authorities). As professional retailers, they offer the highest standards of stock, décor, care and service, dedicated to the welfare of the bride and groom.

The RBA continues to grow steadily and has forged valuable links both within the bridalwear suppliers' industry and with the UK and European Community governments on crucial issues such as the removal of quota restrictions on imported bridal goods.

Currently, the RBA is taking its campaign further to warn brides about the hazards of dealing with home and internet bridal traders.
